Inclement Weather Communication System – Test This Thursday

We will be conducting a test of our district’s inclement-weather communication system this Thursday evening at 6:00 PM. During this test, families will receive a call, text, and email to ensure that our emergency notification system is working properly. This test helps us confirm that all contact information is accurate and that you will receive important updates quickly should weather conditions require schedule changes.

No action is required on your part. This is simply a heads-up so you know the message on Thursday evening is only a test. Thank you for your cooperation and support!

ERS Winter Concert

All fifth grade students as well as our Advanced Choir and 5th Grade Music Makers have been hard at work rehearsing for our 5th Grade Winter Concert this year. Please save the date so your child can join us for a night time performance on Wednesday, December 10th @ 7pm at the Cinnaminson High School Auditorium. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

For those unable to attend in person, the event will be live-streamed on the district's YouTube page! This may be helpful for elderly relatives or loved ones who live at a distance. Anyone who is unable to watch the show when it begins at 7PM can go back and watch it when it's more convenient as the link will remain archived and can be accessed at a later date.

Please note that on Wednesday, all 3rd and 4th grade classes will walk over to CHS in the afternoon to see our 5th graders and the Advanced Choir students perform their Winter Concert. In the event of inclement weather, students will remain at Rush and view a live stream of the performance.

TOYS FOR TOTS TOY DRIVE

With the holiday season upon us, it is time to start thinking about giving to those that are less fortunate. Rush Student Council will once again be having a toy drive for Toys for Tots.

Toys for Tots is sponsored by the U.S Marine Corps Reserves. This program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes these toys as holiday gifts to needy children in the community. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new gift, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
Our toy drive will begin on Monday, December 15th and continue through Friday, December 19th.
All donations will be collected on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Please help the children this holiday season by donating new, unwrapped toys.
We thank you for your generosity and the children thank you!

December is Anxiety Disorder Awareness Month

December is Anxiety Disorder Awareness Month (which is also recognized during the month of May during Mental Health Awareness Month), and is a time to raise awareness about anxiety which is your body's reaction to stress and can occur even if there is no current threat. If anxiety doesn't go away and begins to interfere with your life, it could affect your health.

Occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. Many people worry about things such as health, money, or family problems. But anxiety disorders involve more than temporary worry or fear. For people with an anxiety disorder, the anxiety does not go away and can get worse over time. The symptoms can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, schoolwork, and relationships.

🏥 From the Nurse's Office 🩺

Illustration of diverse children showing signs of illness, such as coughing and sneezing.
With cold & flu season upon us, it important that you review the guidelines listed below when deciding whether or not to send your child to school if they are not feeling well.

Guidelines for Keeping a Sick Child at Home

Should my child be at school with this illness?
Unnecessary absences from school can adversely affect children's academic progress, and also have a negative impact on their social and emotional growth. The following information is not intended as medical advice, but as guidelines to follow until you can contact your healthcare provider.
If any of these conditions do not improve or seem to be getting worse, or aren't responding to treatment, consult your healthcare provider.

Vomiting and Diarrhea
A child with vomiting and/or diarrhea should be kept at home until symptoms have resolved for 24 hours and the child is able to keep down food and liquid.

Fever
Your child may attend school with a temperature less than 100.4 degrees. Your child must be fever-free, without fever reducing medication, for 24 hours before returning to school.

Headache
A child should be kept home if a headache is severe and does not respond to treatment, and is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever.

Earache and Toothache
A child need not miss school due to an ear infection or a toothache if he/she is under medical treatment, has no other symptoms such as fever, and can complete school work despite the discomfort.

Cold, Sore Throat, Cough
Keep your child home if cold and cough symptoms are associated with fever or swollen glands, or if they do not readily improve. Your child may attend school if there is no fever, he/she is not fatigued and is able to do school work, and if the symptoms are mild and your child can manage behaviors to prevent the spread of germs. If your doctor has prescribed antibiotics, your child must be on the antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

Rash
Keep your child home from school if your child has a sizable rash over the body or face, and if the rash is oozing or due to a contagious condition.

Red Eyes
Keep your child home if the white part of the eye appears red and produces a yellow or green crusty discharge. If your child has been diagnosed with pinkeye (conjunctivitis, a contagious infection of the outer layer of the eye), he/she may attend school after 24 hours of antibiotic eye medication.

Encourage your children to wash their hands frequently to avoid spreading germs and disease. Please refer to the health protocol guidelines on the nurse's web page. You may contact Nurse Palma at (856) 829-7778 ext 5803 or palmak@cinnaminson.com if you have any questions.
